NZ dollar dips again

10:27 pm on 25 May 2010

The New Zealand dollar again dipped below 67 US cents on Tuesday as investors worried about Europe's debt problems.

BNZ currency strategist Mike Jones believes the Kiwi could fall to about 65 US cents in the next few days if Europe's debt crisis continues to concern markets, but it is unlikely to fall beyond that.

At 5.20pm on Tuesday, the New Zealand dollar was buying 66.77 US cents, 81.44 Australian cents, 46.49 pence, 60.07 yen and 0.5424 euro.

The Trade Weighted Index was at 65.14.
