Australian airline Qantas is reviewing whether to re-introduce fuel surcharges on its trans-Tasman routes as it raises the surcharge by as much as 52 percent on its other international routes.
It blames a sharp increase in oil and fuel costs in recent months and is not ruling out further increases.
From 19 February, Qantas will charge as much as $A145 extra on its one-way fares to Britain and Europe.
Qantas removed fuel surcharges on its domestic and trans-Tasman fares in January 2009.
