Postie Plus sales up

Postie Plus sales rose 5% to $30 million in the three months to April, but the retailer says the market remains volatile.

Year-to-date sales for the group now stand at $86.18 million - an increase of 4.6% on last year, with sales at stores open more than a year up 3.6%.

Postie Plus chairman Richard Punter says the group is recording healthy growth in a tough market and the company has made solid gains in Christchurch even though three stores were closed by the February earthquake.

Postie Plus is expecting a strong finish in the final three months of the financial year and is forecasting an improvement on last year's result, despite the volatile market, he says.
