Aluminium demand seen as going up

Alcoa says the need for aluminium is only going to go up.

Aluminum is used in cars, planes, cans and kitchens.

Alcoa chief executive Klaus Kleinfled says demand grew 13% last year and predicts global demand will double until 2020.

He says aluminium is prominent in the fast-changing consumer electronics sector, as the market values the properties of the metal.

Mr Kleinfled says aluminium is recyclable and 75% of all the aluminium used in the world, is still in use.
