NZ share prices lower

The New Zealand sharemarket continued its slide on Monday, falling 91 points, or 2.8%, to 3185 on turnover of $128 million.

By the close of trade, Fletcher Building shares were down 23 cents to $7.48, Contact Energy was down 12 cents at $4.91 and Telecom were 8.5 cents lower at $2.485

Sky City Entertainment Group was down 14 cents at $3.36, Sky Network TV was down 5 cents at $5.59 and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare lost 19 cents to $2.30.

Auckland International Airport was 6 cents lower at $2.17, while Air New Zealand was down 3 cents to $1.08.

The Warehouse was 6 cents lower at $3.34 and Pumpkin Patch was down 5 cents at 94 cents.

Property for Industry was down 1 cent to $1.17 after its half-year distributable profit fell 13%.

New Zealand Refining fell 10 cents to $3.30, while New Zealand Oil & Gas was down 2 cents to 64 cents.

At 5.20pm, the New Zealand dollar was buying at 82.8 US cents, 80.28 Australian cents, 50.41 pence, 64.42 Yen and 0.5775 euro. The Trade Weighted Index stood at 71.56.
