Some of the visiting World Cup fans will hoping for a job offer, as well as six weeks of good rugby.
An estimated 90,000 international visitors are expected in New Zealand during the tournament which starts off on Friday.
The managing director of recruitment firm Hays, Jason Walker, says his company has been approached by a number of people who want to organise job interviews while they are in New Zealand for the Rugby World Cup.
Jason Walker says they are mainly from the United Kingdom and include engineers, accountants and insurance specialists.
He says they have realised that their immigration status improves if they have a job offer.
Mr Walker says the company's own research has found almost 60% of firms are experiencing skill shortages and that is only going to worsen as the rebuild of earthquake-hit Christchurch gets underway next year.
The company has recently been running recruitment campaigns overseas to find enough skilled workers to help, he says.
