IMF changes New Zealand growth forecasts

Updated at 1:57 pm on 21 September 2011

The International Monetary Fund has raised its forecast for New Zealand's economic growth for this financial year but slashed it for next year.

In its World Economic Outlook, the fund says New Zealand's recovery has gained traction, despite the recent earthquakes.

It says growth is forecast to rise 2% this year and 3.8% next year.

That compares to its April forecast of 0.9% growth this year and 4.1% next year.
