It's been another shaky night in Canterbury, with five sizeable aftershocks since 10pm.
A magnitude 4.5 earthquake occurred 20km southwest of Christchurch, at a depth of 6km at 3.13am on Thursday.
It was followed by a magnitude 4.3 quake centred at the same location and depth at 4.35am.
A magnitude 3.4 occurred at 5.04am at a depth of 5km. It was centred 20km west of Christchurch.
Continuous aftershocks have occurred since a magnitude 7.1 earthquake at 4.35am on 4 September.
