Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority has identified 29 more buildings that need to be demolished.

That takes the total number of buildings that either need to be fully or partially demolished, or made safe, to 735.

Those added to the demolition list include the Chesterfields Pre-school on Colombo street, the Chamber Tower apartments on Lichfield street and the old Masonic hall on Wordsworth street.

In all cases, CERA says building owners have been contacted to make plans for demolition.
