Some All Blacks are going into the hardest-hit suburbs of Christchurch on Friday, to reward young rugby teams with tickets to their first Test match of the season.

New Zealand is to play Fiji next weekend in Dunedin, with the proceeds going to the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.

It will be the only time the All Blacks will play in the South Island this year.

The New Zealand Rugby Union says the players will visit primary school rugby teams from Burnside and New Brighton Rugby Clubs to deliver the tickets.

Chief executive Steve Tew says they will also present specially designed rugby jerseys to representatives of the Fire Service, St John Ambulance, Christchurch City Council and the police.
