The Christchurch Earthquake Appeal Trust is allocating almost $70 million to seven separate categories - with sporting facilities and heritage buildings to get the most money.

The Trust says it has raised just under $100 million, some of which has been directed to specific projects by donors.

It says $20 million will be spent on the region's recreational facilities including the development of a new indoors sports centre and a full rebuild of the Wilding Park tennis courts.

More than $18 million will go towards restoring key heritage buildings.

Other allocations include $10 million towards those suffering hardship and $9 million on youth and education projects.
