The New Zealand netball team has crushed South Africa 70-29 at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi to secure their place at the top of their pool.

The win on Friday confirms the Silver Ferns will avoid arch-rivals Australia in the semifinals.

The Silver Ferns outclassed South Africa at both ends of the court at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex and will be pleased to have maintained their momentum after a crucial win over England on Thursday.

However, an injury to star defender Leana de Bruin will be of some concern for coach Ruth Aitken as the business end of the tournament draws near.

New Zealand will play Barbados on Tuesday.
