A New Zealand man has died in hospital in Vanuatu after a brawl outside a nightclub in the capital, Port Vila.
Acting police commissioner Arthur Caulton says the man is understood to have been working in Vanuatu and living in the country for some time.
Mr Caulton says the man was assaulted at about midnight on Thursday. He died in Port Vila hospital.
Police are holding a man in custody, but Mr Caulton says investigators are still working out what exactly happened.
