Sport New Zealand is confident its targeted funding approach will help deliver one of the nation's biggest Olympic medal hauls at the London Olympics.

The State sport funding agency has invested more money than ever preparing athletes for the Games with high performance sport funding increasing from $40 million to more than $60 million over the past three years.

New Zealand's medal tally has reached double figures at three previous Olympics and Sport NZ chief executive Peter Miskimmin expects London be the fourth.

More on this can be heard on Insight on Radio New Zealand National.

The 2012 Olympics begin on 27 July and end on 12 August. This is the third time London has hosted the Games - previous events were in 1948 and 1908.
