A capsized crane has been successfully salvaged from Milford Sound after a five-day operation.
The crane fell on its side at Freshwater Basin on Wednesday while carrying out pile-driving work on a wharf, leaving part of the boom balanced on a pile.
A 100-tonne crane was brought in to right the fallen crane at about 10am on Sunday.
The Milford Development Authority says Southland Regional Council crews were standing by with oil-spill equipment, but there was no leakage from the crane.
