A former gaming machine trustee has been convicted of stealing almost $364,000.
Alvin Shane Cosgrave, 66, formerly of the defunct South Auckland Charitable Trust, pleaded guilty to seven charges of theft this week on the third day of a trial in Manukau District Court.
The Department of Internal Affairs says he will be sentenced at the end of next month.
In April 2011, a High Court Judge ordered Cosgrave and his company, Integrated Commercial Solutions, to repay $975,000 to the Secretary of Internal Affairs.
Internal Affairs took civil action under the Gambling Act to recover the money.
