Within three hours of NCEA results being posted on the Qualifications Authority's website on Thursday afternoon, 24,000 secondary-school students logged on to see how well they'd done in the exams.
800 logged on in the first four minutes.
So far the website is running well. The authority's deputy chief executive, Bali Haque, says no problems are expected with it.
140,000 sets of results were posted out by ordinary mail on Wednesday and should arrive in most letterboxes Thursday. Exam papers will be returned from January 21 on.
