Black Caps try a comeback

New Zealand has taken two wickets on the start of day two of their first Test against South Africa in Cape Town.

Alviro Petersen was bowled by Trent Boult for 106; Faf du Plessis caught by Kane Williamson off the bowling of Chris Martin for 15.

Before heading into day two of the first test in Cape Town, New Zealand cricket captain, Brendon McCullum, said the Black Caps could not dwell on their first innings capitulation against South Africa.

South Africa resumed at 252 for three, a lead of 207 after the Black Caps were dismissed for 45 - their eighth lowest score in test match history.

They followed up a woeful batting effort with some poor bowling and fielding but McCullum says they need to try and salvage something.
