The search for a 72-year-old man missing off the Wairarapa coast has been suspended.
The Martinborough man went out from Sandy Bay near Te Awaiti on Thursday to set a crayfish pot.
The next day his inflatable boat was found 68 kilometres off the coast.
The Rescue Coordination Centre has had an Airforce Orion, helicopters, fishing boats and the Police Dive Squad looking for the man since Friday.
Maritime New Zealand said the decision to suspend the search would be reviewed, should any new information come to light.
