A 5.2 earthquake shook shaken central New Zealand on Sunday.
GeoNet says the earthquake struck 1.45pm on Sunday, 25 kilometres west of Waverley.
The quake was at a depth of 138 kilometres.
GeoNet says its intensity at surface level was light.
