One person is dead and another has been injured in a house fire in the Waikato town of Tokoroa.
The Fire Service says the blaze began just before 7pm on Tuesday at a property in Dalmeny Street.
A northern communications centre spokesperson, Dallas Ramsay, says the house was alight when crews arrived.
Mr Ramsay says crews and a fire safety investigator remain at the scene.
Police say they are not sure if the dead person is a man or a woman.
They say a man has been taken to Waikato Hospital suffering serious burns.
