Extradition decision delayed

8:01 pm on 16 May 2013

The judge considering whether to extradite a convicted sex offender to Australia has delayed her decision.

Bernard McGrath has already served three prison terms in New Zealand and Australia for abusing boys and faces another 252 charges of sexual abuse laid in an Australian court.

The former St John of God brother is accused of repeatedly raping, molesting and abusing dozens of boys at church institutions in New South Wales in the 1970s and 80s.

Judge Jane Farish was due to release her decision on Thursday afternoon, but it has been delayed until 11 June.
