A Napier youth is in a stable condition in hospital after being stabbed multiple times in the chest, neck and back early on Sunday morning.
Police were called to an out-of-control party around 12.30am on Sunday in the Napier suburb of Tamatea. Up to 200 people were there.
Police said the stabbing happened a short time later, during an altercation with a group of youths after a Give Way sign was pulled down.
He had surgery on Sunday for multiple wounds.
Police are now seeking witnesses to the stabbing.
