The New Zealand Film lab has been saved from closure and will be relocated to new premises at Archives New Zealand in Wellington.
The film processing lab - owned and operated by Park Road Post Production - stopped business in March because of a drop in the number of projects being made on film.
Archives New Zealand said this was an opportunity for it to step in and help preserve culturally significant movies in New Zealand.
The lab, the only colour film processing facility in Australasia, reopens in November.
