Daniel Carter has made his long awaited return to rugby.
The All Blacks first five, who is rated the best player in the world, has been out for six months after an achilles injury while playing club rugby in France.
Carter made his return playing for the Southbridge club side in Christchurch on Saturday afternoon.
He admitted afterwards that he had been a little cautious on his return but was pleased to be back.
Carter says he hopes to play for Canterbury next weekend.
He says he'll see how that goes before contemplating a return to the All Blacks.
