Three police officers have been charged with assault over an incident earlier this year in Auckland.
They appeared at the Auckland District Court on Monday.
A police spokesperson says Chris Renata, Patrick Garty and Wiremu Bowers-Rakatau were off-duty at the time of the incident earlier this year.
They were suspended from their posts at the beginning of August, but returned to restricted duties at the end of the month.
The Independent Police Conduct Authority has been notified of the incident and a code of conduct investigation is under way.
