Three more teenagers have been charged with murder, following a death in Murupara.

Kaine Lewis, 17, of Kaingaroa, was found in a driveway with severe head injuries early on 4 October and died before he reached hospital.

The Rotorua police say a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old were due to appear in the Rotorua District Court on Thursday and a 16-year-old in the Youth Court.

Another 17-year-old and an 18-year-old appeared in the same court on Wednesday, also charged with murder.

Last week, all five were charged with participation in criminal gang activity.

Inspector Greg Sparrow says officers are still speaking with other people who may have been involved. The police have already identified the potential involvement of the Mongrel Mob and Tribesmen gangs.
