Pakistan cricketers win second Wellington match

5:27 pm on 6 December 2009

Pakistan's cricketers have levelled the Test series with a 141-run victory on the fourth day of the second Test in the capital.

Despite some more abysmal fielding, with six catches dropped in the innings, Pakistan wrapped up the final 4 wickets after lunch with New Zealand all out for 263.

Wellington's Iain O'Brien was the last Black Cap to go for 31 in his final home match at the Basin Reserve, after announcing his Test retirement on Saturday night.

Ross Taylor top scored with 97, with skipper Dan Vettori the best of the rest with 40 and understandably disappointed with his batsmen ahead of the next Test starting in Napier on Friday.

Man of the match Mohammad Asif took 5 wickets for 67 in the innings to go to 9 for the match and 17 in the series.
