A call to limit fast food outlets in south Auckland to combat Pasifika child obesity is being backed by Pasifika local body politicians and the regional public health service.
The push follows an AUT University study of 1200 Pasifika children that found half were already obese by the age of 10.
The local politicians want fast food outlets to be controlled in the same way as liquor stores are.
