Internet New Zealand has approved a policy that will allow users to simplify website domain names.
The change means users can register directly under .nz, rather than .co.nz.
Domain Names Commission chair David Farrar says the change and will bring New Zealand into line with the rest of the world.
Mr Farrar says the simplified web addresses will be easier to remember.
