The Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade says no New Zealanders have been reported killed or injured in Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

The ministry is aware of 376 New Zealanders in the country and says they should follow the advice of local officials.

The New Zealand Embassy in Manila says it is in close contact with the authorities and stands ready to provide help if needed.

It says New Zealanders in the Philippines should register their details on the ministry's website, safetravel.govt.nz.
