8:31 pm on 12 December 2013

One of the country's longest -running employment cases is set to run into 2014.

Radio New Zealand's former managing editor of news Lynne Snowdon has taken the case in the Employment Court, challenging her dismissal from the state broadcaster.

Ms Snowdon took sick leave in 2003 and her employment was terminated in 2005 when she failed to return to work.

The dispute been going on for 10 years. The Employment Court hearing began in September this year and Radio New Zealand began its defence earlier in December.

As Friday is the court last sitting day for 2013, and the company still has several more witnesses to give evidence, the case will resume in the new year.
