The driver of a truck involved in a fatal crash with another truck and a car in Manawatu last week has been stood down from his job by his employer.
The crash happened on State Highway 1 between Sanson and Foxton early on Wednesday.
Two people from Levin were killed: Margaret Jane Turnbull, 51, and her 20-year-old son, Trent Cole Whitburn.
They died when their car was crushed between the two trucks, and all three vehicles caught fire.
Transport company Freight Lines said the driver of their truck has been stood down while police investigate the accident.
