A woman has been rescued after she fell down a hole on Takaka Hill near Nelson.
Police were notified about 11am on Thursday when the woman had fallen eight to 12 metres deep in the Ngarua caves.
She was able to activate a locator beacon in the location she fell.
A Tasman Bay Cave Rescue's team lifted the woman out and say she appears to have come through the incident unscathed.
