Police have arrested and charged a man with the murder of a man who disappeared three years ago.
Brett Hall went missing from his farm property along the Whanganui River in May 2011 and no trace of him has been found despite an extensive police search.
Last week, Mr Hall's mother made an impassioned plea for more information and for the whereabouts of his body to be revealed.
A 49-year-old Manawatu man appeared in the Whanganui District Court on Saturday charged with murder and was remanded in custody.
He was granted interim name suppression and will next appear at the High Court in Whanganui on 14 July.
