Thick fog blanketing Christchurch airport has led to flights being cancelled and hundreds of passengers being delayed this morning.

At least 16 domestic arrival and departure flights have been delayed or cancelled. No international flights appeared to have been impacted.
The airport remains open and passengers are advised to check with their airline about the status of their flight.
