A 200-litre tank of animal fat caught fire at an Invercargill meatworks last night.
Firefighters called to the Alliance Group's Lorneville plant had the blaze under control in less than an hour.
No one was injured in the blaze.
The cause of the fire was not known but it was not being treated as suspicious.
