Clayton Ratima was dropped off at Auckland's Middlemore Hospital in February with severe injuries, and died three days later.

Part of the investigation focused on who was at the gang's Otara headquarters when Mr Ratima was assaulted.

Detective Inspector F'aa Vaaelua said two men, aged 31 and 32, were arrested this morning and will shortly appear in the Manukau District Court charged with murder.

He said Mr Ratima's family and friends had been told of the development, and were grateful the arrests had finally been made.
