A woman is in hospital after a car caught fire in Whangarei last night.
The Fire Service said the fire, which started in the car about 7.30pm in Kohe Street, was put out before crews arrived.
St John Ambulance said it took the 40-year-old woman to Whangarei hospital in a serious condition after the fire.
She was transferred to Middlemore hospital in Auckland last night, where she was in a stable condition at the National Burns Centre.
