Four teenagers have been arrested by the Armed Offenders Squad in Hamilton following a spate of robberies in the area.

Three dairies, a petrol station and Stirling Sports were all robbed last month.

Detective Sergeant Terri Wilson said the police and the Armed Offenders Squad searched properties in Hamilton and Ngāruawāhia today.

Stolen cars, property, firearms and a cannabis-growing room were found.

Ms Wilson said four males aged between 14 and 18 have been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, burglary, unlawfully taking a car and participating in an organised criminal group.

One other youth would be referred to Youth Aid.

The arrested teens have been accused of taking part in three aggravated robberies and three ram raids - including two at the same Stirling Sports outlet in Te Awamutu - between 19 January and 27 February.

Ms Wilson said officers would work hard to reunite the stolen items with their owners.

"We'd really like to thank the members of the public who have come forward with information to assist in our investigations into these robberies. Your information has been invaluable."
