Auckland commuters warned to expect train delays

Commuters on Auckland's trains face delays and crowded carriages this afternoon due a broken rail in the Britomart tunnel.

Auckland Transport says the challenge to boost passenger numbers remains alive.

Auckland Transport said the fault was limiting the number of trains which could go in and out of the station.

It said trains would continue to run every 10 minutes, but they would be very crowded because there would be fewer carriages on some lines.

KiwiRail said it would have the line fixed overnight.
