A boy has been taken to Starship Hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car outside a school in West Auckland.
Police said the crash happened outside St Dominic's College in Henderson just after school, about 3.30pm.
Rathgar Road was blocked and diversions were in place.
Police earlier said the child hit was a girl but subsequently corrected that statement.
