A man is due to appear again in the Rotorua District Court on Monday, accused of the murder of a Murupara teenager last month.
Jordan Herewini, 16, died after being run over by a stolen car. Police have said he may have been mistakenly identified as a rival gang associate by Mongrel Mob members from out-of-town.
A Kawerau man, 32, with interim name suppression is due in court on Monday for a brief hearing.
Meanwhile, Rotorua MP Todd McClay is calling for calm following a subsequent house fire and several car fires.
He says people are increasingly concerned about retribution and Murupara should not be held hostage by thugs.
