A homicide inquiry is under way in Masterton after a man died from head injuries sustained in a fight.
Koria Steven Matiaha, 25, was admitted to hospital last Thursday after an incident at a house in Stuart Crescent.
He died in Wellington Hospital on Sunday.
Two Masterton women, aged 20 and 21, have appeared in the Masterton District Court on assault-related charges.
Both were remanded in custody for two weeks.
Police say they're not seeking anyone else in relation to Mr Matiaha's death.
