Fines imposed after oil discharge

New Zealand Oil & Gas says two of its partners in the Tui oil fields have been fined over an accidental oil discharge that occurred off the Taranaki coast in October 2007.

The company says the discharge came from a vessel which processes oil from the Tui fields.

It says the field operator AWE and the vessel's operator, Prosafe Production, have been fined $52,500 each by the district court.
