A man has died and the road is closed after a crash on Pakuranga Road, and a section State Highway 8 in Otago is closed after a crash that injured four people.
Pakuranga crash
Police said the two-vehicle crash on Pakuranga Road happened about 12:30pm on Saturday.
One man was taken to hospital, but died on the way there.
Another person was injured, and was in a stable condition in Middlemore Hospital on Saturday evening, police said in a statement.
Diversions were put in place but the road remained blocked into the evening, they said.
Four injured in Otago crash
Police said they understand four people had been injured in a two-vehicle crash at about 4:30pm on Saturday on SH8, the Manuka Gorge Highway in Otago.
Two people were seriously injured, and two had moderate injuries after the crash between a van and a ute.

"The road is blocked while emergency services respond and diversions have been put in place," police said in a statement.
This article has been corrected. Police originally reported the four person crash happened in Manukau, but later clarified that it was on the Manuka Gorge Highway, in Otago.
