Police in the Rodney district, north of Auckland, say the body of a missing 22-year-old man has been found washed up on rocks at Tawhirinui Peninsula.
Masashi Hayama-Moreton was last seen on Tuesday night at the Orewa Beach Holiday Camp in his silver BMW and reported missing by his family on Wednesday.
His friends have described his recent behaviour as erratic but said his disappearance was out of character.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances relating to his disappearance or death.
A post mortem will be carried out on Monday.
