Palmerston North police are investigating three knife attacks in the city and are examining whether they are linked.
Just after 3am on Sunday a man walking near Cook and Main streets was robbed of his cellphone and some money by two people - one of whom was carrying a knife.
An hour later two teenagers in the Railway Land area were approached by three youths who stole their cellphones and cash at knifepoint.
And about 5.30am on Sunday a 22-year-old man was found in the centre of the square with stab wounds.
He is now in hospital in a stable condition.
