A Gisborne man charged with animal cruelty is accused of feeding kittens to his dog.
He faces five charges of wilful ill-treatment of an animal, and is also accused of making a video of the incident on his phone.
The man was charged after the incident was reported to the SPCA last year.
He is due back in the Gisborne District Court on Monday, when he's expected to enter a plea.
