The Earthquake Commission has received more than 100 claims from homeowners in the Whakatane area since last week's flooding.
And Whakatane District Council is allowing people to fast track any consent applications they need to repair damaged properties.
The EQC has received nearly 400 claims relating to wet weather in the past month, including 135 from Whakatane, 51 from Napier, 25 from Dunedin and 19 from Waitaki.
